Building Bridges Between Communities: A Forum Focused on Islam
As part of the Building Bridges Between Communities: A Forum on Islam the Crossroads Community Center helped to lead a discussion on the impact of preconceived cultural ideas on images and perceptions. Bettina Byrd-Giles and Joshua Burford led the discussion which consisted of showing a series of images and having the audience write down their initial reactions to them. The images were shown again and placed in their correct context to show how preconceived cultural notions influence the way we see people.
